But I don’t NEED a Business Plan!

If there is one statement I have heard over and over again as the General Manager of the Thunder Bay Centre of Change it is “But I don’t need a Business Plan” and I am  sorry but in my humble opinion, that statement is nothing but wrong.

When I think back to the days not to long ago when I was starting my own consulting business and planning on marketing my book, I had no clue.  Correction – I knew I had information people needed to know, I knew people would buy my book but how high to price it, how often they bought books or even how many people were into motivational type books? No, I didn’t have a clue.

Luckily and thankfully I have always saidthat my greatest strength is knowing what isn’t and in the case of my business I wanted and NEEDED it to be a success, so I consulted the experts – PARO.

As part of my business plan I was forced (because I sure wouldn’t have done it otherwise) to do a survey.  Thanks to that survey I had hard facts.  I now DID know how often people buy books and what percentage of those surveyed bought motivational books. I now knew the range to price my book in and
a good idea of just how successful I could expect to be in this market.

A great idea is a good place to start.  A great idea backed with a well thought out and researched business plan is GOLD and if you have both …come see me at the Thunder Bay Centre of Change!
