Photographer
After a 30-year career with Thunder Bay Hydro, which included becoming the first female “Journeyman System Operator” in Ontario, as well as Health and Safety Manager, Jean left her successful career with Hydro behind in 2005 to start her own photography business. This is when she became an “Official PARO photographer”, capturing images at meeting and events for promotion and publications.
Since then, Jean has had her work published in various magazines and has travelled the world, filling her portfolio with images from Africa, Costa Rica, Ireland, Scotland, England, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. A great selection of Jean’s photos can also be found in the PARO Presents store.
In April 2008, Jean had three images chosen for the 2008 Professional Photographers of Canada, National Image show, a highly prestigious honour. Jean has also studied with various professional photographers, the most renowned of which include Freeman Patterson, Andre Gallant and Maurice Henri.
In July 2010, Jean decided it was time for a change, and relocated to the beautiful shores of Lake Huron, where she has a whole new world to photograph. She is in the process of renovating her lakeside home, where she is building her own Art Gallery and Studio on Partridge Drive, 15 minutes east of Sault Ste. Marie.
